We are seeking a motivated hard working graduate vet looking to fast track their career. The clinic is an RCVS-accredited Tier 3 Equine Hospital in South West Wales, the only one of its type in Wales. Situated on the edge of a coastal National Park and area of outstanding natural beauty, the practice provides ambulatory services to Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, south Ceredigion, Swansea and the Vale of Glamorgan. It also provides a referral service for emergency surgery and intensive care, and all elective internal medicine, orthopaedic and surgical cases. Cotts provides veterinary cover for nearby Ffos Las racecourse.
The practice currently employs 17 full time veterinary surgeons including 2 board-certified specialists, one in surgery and one in internal medicine. Interns live on site and work a 1 in 2 out-of-hours rota. We also provide regular in-house training seminars and fund 5 days of external CPD. The aim is that after 12 months our interns are equipped with the skills and experience required to work competently in first line equine practice, or pursue further specialist training. We pride ourselves on being a friendly and close team. Further details about the practice, staff and facilities can to be found elsewhere on this website.
Please get in touch for an informal chat for further information, speaking to Richard or Shaun, or email for their attention to our manager at evie.fowke@cottsequine.co.uk. Applications should include your current CV with recent photograph and letter of intent. Candidates may also provide supplementary letters of recommendation or any other information they feel pertinent.
Having applied we will contact you to arrange a mutually convenient time to set up an online meeting and/or visit in person. Two references should be supplied with your CV, but they will only be contacted after the interview and with your specific go-ahead.
Cotts is an equal opportunity employer and we pay our interns a generous package in line with UK new graduate vet’s wages. British and European Union graduates are encouraged along with overseas vets already in the UK. Applicants living outside this area without membership of the RCVS should be aware that legal changes following Brexit, coupled with Covid, make it practically impossible for us to consider your application at the current time.
